PRINCE NUADA – HELLBOY II: THE GOLDEN ARMY
This was my 2nd foam latex prosthetic and it was really thin in most places. This was also my first venture into dealing with custom hand painted contacts, leather work, pax, wig ventilating and prop mechanics.
Most of my time was spent on the wig and the spear. I actually consulted NASA and Purdue University on how to accomplish the spear effect… but after lengthy discussions was left unaided in the end. The mechanics of it are based on 3 tiered, nested telescoping poles, a section of metal measuring tape, rivets, a tie clip and screen door parts. Because of this costume, I am now fully in love with working with leather and I find lace wigs very relaxing to do.
I was not fully happy with original mask, as I had not learned about skin texturing yet. I did a quick redo of the mask when I had some extra foam to kill and it came out great. The pic with Mr. Wink is the original mask.
