Brood X - Limited Runs - Handmade Faux Resin Cicada and Wood Hairpin

While dodging and ducking through my first big cicada emergence, I was captivated by their strikingly vibrant eyes, it reminded me of a trend that originated in the late 1800s – gilded insects.
Inspired by the Victorians who adorned live insects with jewels and chains, I present my interpretation. Picture a vintage cicada, dipped in bronze, delicately perched on a branch, as if unearthed from a forgotten box to grace tresses in a new era.
And rest assured, no cicadas were harmed – or even touched – in the making of this piece. 🙂

What’s more, the last cicada from each run will carry a special token – a piece of that run’s mold, making it a truly unique collector’s item.

Processing Times
It takes me 3 to 5 business days to craft each item before it's shipped on its way to you.
Custom sized items take a bit longer, expect 5 business days from the moment we've agreed on the design details.
The variation is because when I have time I like to get some items started but not completed so that colors could be customized. That makes it a shorter process time. If I don’t have any started, I have to make the whole item and that makes it a slightly longer process time. Custom sizes always take a little longer as those have to be started after I know what size is wanted.
